I personally have not used a gold eye liner before, but I have used some eye liners previously, I usually swear by the lancome art liner, but it is a black eye liner. I have also tried some of the NYX liquid eyeliners, but the application tip that it has bends in forty different ways, which makes hard to apply, although I have heard a lot of great reviews about their slim and jumbo pencils they are very creamy , you could definitely try those, they are inexpensive, and if you have an ulta around where you live you can definitely test it out. Also do you use any sort of eye shadow base? that can also be part of the solution, it helps with not just eye shadows but eyeliner as well.
